Maryland Cottage Food Businesses
Make $50,000 or less per year
Individually packaged with a label containing all ingredients, potential allergens (milk, soy, wheat, egg, etc.), the address of the business, or the MDFC-issued ID number, net weight of the product.
A printed statement in 10-point type or larger, in a color that clearly contrasts the label's background: “Made by a cottage food business that is not subject to Maryland's food safety regulations.”

Food Sampling & Sales Permit
The following vendors require a Farmer’s Market Vendor License:
Non-cottage food businesses selling consumable goods
Food trucks (if no mobile unit license has already been issued)
All beverage vendors
The following vendors need a Farmer’s Market Sampling License:
Any non-cottage food vendor giving out samples (includING farmers and producers!)
